Brightest colours round the lake:
Nature’s beaming smile.
Reflections of pure happiness:
pause and think awhile
It’s every time you say ‘hello’
It’s every helping hand
It’s every tender thought and act
Instinctive? Sometimes planned.
It’s ‘glass half full’, and filing-up
Its time to spend with friends
Its sharing all those hopes and dreams
The chance to make amends.
It’s gulping down an angry word
With hugs and summer wine
Its fresh air in a vacuum
It’s the breath of love’s sunshine.
It challenges in soft rebuke,
Caressing with such care:
Make someone happy every day
Like this, an answered prayer.
Lake Windermere, Cumbria over a wall and Stile. Windermere is a large lake in Cumbria’s Lake District National Park, northwest England. The whole area is called Lake Windermere, but the largest body of water is just called Windermere 10 miles long and the widest part is 1 mile. If is about 2000 feet deep. It’s surrounded by mountain peaks and villages, including Bowness-on-Windermere, where The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction has modern displays on the children’s writer. In the north, trails lead to Orrest Head, a hill with views across the lake and the fells beyond, and Holehird Gardens, with their alpines, heathers and shrubs. Wordsworth, one of Britain's finest poets, explored here, from his home in Grasmere.
