A Dawning of Time

The vision of an ‘impossibly beautiful girl’ is irresistible, yet there is always more to it than vision alone. Lost in contemplation, gazing thoughtfully outside to ‘where the grass is greener’, this painting has a dreamy quality that both is the dream and is of the dream.

One can even contemplate what the nature of such a beautiful girl would be, in an ideal world or whether, indeed a beautiful girl who has her own mind, and a nature that is not ideal makes the whole package more the kind of ideal a man would want. Would perfect, in fact, be too perfect? Do the flaws make things better?

And gazing at this girl, entranced in her own vision, we can wade deeper and wonder what she thinks: what would her ideal be? Would she dream, for example, of an ideal man, or would her ideal be someone she could make ideal?
