Ben Nevis and Inverlochy Castle Hotel

The name “Ben Nevis” has two translations from the ancient Gaelic language, meaning ‘mountain with its head in the clouds’, thanks to its iconic mist-shrouded peak, or it can also mean ‘venomous mountain’. Certainly some of the 125,000 hillwalkers who climb this, the highest peak in Scotland, find it a tough but inspiring walk. The greatest of the ‘Munros’, Ben Nevis stretches 1345 metres above Sea Level, so it is wonderful to have Inverlochy Castle Hotel providing refreshment after the descent. And then onwards, and upwards for more ‘munro-bagging’.
