The Light of Dawn is treasured here, dramatic through the clouds
The brightness of the sunshine blinds your eyes
A warning for the shepherds if you see them in the crowds
for walkers to take raincoats if they’re wise!
It’s hard to see the details of the landscape looking East
so dark against the bright red, pink and white
The Threipmuir Reservoir reflects some sky blue but not least
A view to drink in gulps – a pretty sight!
A place to take the dogs on leads, or free to charge around
The undulating hills and farmers fields
Through woods and over dykes where there are pathways I have found
Where once again we see the power he wields.
This is a haven and secure and friendly, often quiet
A harmony of wings and songbird sounds
A solace and a home with such a sumptuous nature diet
A place where all our instincts find their grounds.
