Enraptured, encaptured and filled with delight
I can’t quite believe that I met her tonight
Introduced, with smile and relaxed, unexpecting
That someone so gorgeous responds, unsuspecting!
I can’t quite believe that such luck can be true!
But check out her face and her hair – check the view!
A ‘one in a million’, hey, once in a life!
And this one i’m keeping and making my wife!!!
Okay, steady on, it is still our first dance
My mind is in some kind of Dervish-like trance!
I must take a breath and not blow this whole meeting
As sudden confessions are so self-defeating!
Those words, ‘love’ and ‘marriage’ will often beguile
True intentions or not, she’ll be shocked, run a mile!
So we play the game calmly, with utter distain
Get a grip of yourself – and remember her name!
Ah! At least i have THAT right, so…gentle and fun
There are tactics to measure and use must be done
With finesse and with charm and enjoying each side-step:
A dance as her eyelids explore every bicep!
And clocking the mutual attraction, relax!
The chemistry’s there but the mind is a tax
That we pay, with attention to detail, my friends,
On this, future happiness surely depends!
To catch and retain, be caught and remain
And welcome these loving intrusions
We master our minds and our hearts in refrain
They are products of clever confusions!
