*This painting is framed.*

Sgwd y Pannwr means ‘fall of the fuller’ or ‘fall of the woollen washer’. It is a long shelf-like waterfall that resembles a miniature Niagra Falls and it is possible to imaging the water flowing over the grate of an old-fashioned wooden washing board.

One of several spectacular waterfalls found in the Mellte Valley in the Brecon Beacons, these falls have a splendour, grandeur and beauty that make them the finest waterfall in Britain.
